The doctor’s voice was gentle. “No one tried to save you, did they? They looked at your father and said, ‘He’s a hero, he can’t have done anything wrong,’ and turned away. You, your mother, your siblings, all overlooked victims.”
Shouto frowned, turning his eyes away. “You shouldn’t … “
“Shouldn’t speak the truth? Because your father is too powerful?” A hand brushed through his hair. “Who made society this warped, I wonder?”
And then - “You’ve done nothing wrong, Shouto. Your father has. Let me protect you.”
“… okay,” Shouto said, exhaustion tugging at his bones. “Yeah. Okay.”

“Most heroes worship money?” Shou quoted in the wake of Stain’s departure, sitting down in the shade of the water tank. “How overdramatic. Some of them worship fame instead.”
Tomura snorted. “You’re still going on about Endeavor’s failings?”
“Everyone needs a hobby, Sensei says.” Shou cupped his palms together, summoning a lick of flame in the bowl of his hands. “Besides, I need something to do during the cut-scenes.”
